Our History
Sonic Haven Studios was founded in 2010 by Jedediah "Jed" Smalls, a Nashville native with a lifelong passion for music and audio engineering. Jed began his career as a musician, touring the local circuit and experiencing firsthand the challenges artists face in capturing high-quality recordings. Frustrated by the limitations of existing studios, Jed set out to create a recording environment that was both technically superior and artistically inspiring.
Starting with a small, rented space in East Nashville, Jed painstakingly built Sonic Haven Studios from the ground up. He invested in top-of-the-line equipment, meticulously soundproofed the rooms, and cultivated a welcoming atmosphere where artists could feel comfortable and creative. Word of mouth spread quickly, and soon Sonic Haven became known as a go-to destination for musicians seeking exceptional sound and personalized service.
Over the years, Sonic Haven Studios has expanded its facilities and services, adding a second recording room, a dedicated mastering suite, and a team of talented engineers and producers. We've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of artists, from up-and-coming indie bands to established country stars. Our commitment to quality and innovation has earned us a reputation as one of Nashville's premier recording studios.
In 2023, Sonic Haven Studios underwent a major renovation, incorporating the latest advancements in audio technology and design. We've upgraded our console, added new microphones and preamps, and enhanced our acoustic treatment to ensure that our studio remains at the forefront of the industry. But despite all the changes, our core values remain the same: a passion for music, a dedication to quality, and a commitment to serving the needs of our artists.
